Florida Days

Happy Saturday Guys! Check out the weather I got to enjoy all last week! It was a-maaaaaaaa-zing!

My company (civilian) had their annual conference in Hollywood, FL this year. It was a blast to say the least. I got to spend more time in my swim suit than I have in months. I didn’t want to come home, the weather was too nice to leave behind!!

We flew in bright and early on Tuesday morning. I had to be at the airport at 4:30 am. Yowza. It was 2 hours to Denver, then 4 hours to FL. Talk about long periods of sitting… But we finally made it. I headed straight to my room and got ready for the beach!

We stayed at the Westin Diplomat. One of the more beautiful hotels I’ve had the opportunity to stay at. Beats military hotels, that’s for sure! I didn’t have very much time, but I did grab a yogurt and fruit cup from the downstairs cafe and happily ate it while enjoying THIS view.

I loved my hotel room. Ocean view and not one, but TWO shower heads. Man am I lucky? I mean 1 shower head is so Marriott Suites. Come on.

After soaking up a few minutes of the ocean, my whole team went out to Yard House for dinner. And the games began…

After dinner we found ourselves at a karaoke bar. Ladies night… girls drink free! I wasn’t drinking so I ordered a male co-worker a drink. Little did we know, the red cups were for girls only. His drink was quickly removed from his hands. Oops. I guess they’ve probably thought about this before. Duh.

Wednesday morning I leisurely woke up and did some work on my laptop while enjoying a very full plate of granola-fruit pancakes. I thought the granola and fruit would be on the top, but I guess their cooked INTO the pancakes. Noted.

The rest of the day was spent at this beautiful pool:

This was literally a picture taken from my hotel room. Jealous?

I also managed to fit in a quick workout while I was there. It was a stretch, but we got it done.

I did this run-walk workout for about 20 minutes on the hotel treadmill. It was surprisingly effective. Exactly what I needed after a full day of traveling. Let me know how it goes if you try it!!

Thursday was a work day for us. We had several classes mapped out depending on our positions in the company. I learned some great new ideas, and was even more happy to end the afternoon soaking up the sun. (All work days should end at 3pm by the beach.) Which I is exactly what I did as soon as we were allowed to.

That evening was the awards ceremony. We got all dressed up for a jam-packed night of dinner (which was incredible!) and awards. I wore this dress that I ordered from Victoria Secrets a few weeks ago. (While I was searching for my dress, I spotted THIS DRESS… OMG, must own!) I kept packing light and just wore my Liz Claiborne marry janes. I spent too much time trying to get my hair this straight, but it was definitely worth it. Look how long it’s getting!

Our team was so excited and surprised to have TWO winners! Both of my managers won awards, we couldn’t be more happy for them! Go team Nor-Cal!! I was inspired and motivated. Worldwide Express is an amazing company, I’m looking forward to the opportunities and experiences that are yet to come my way!

It was a wonderful few days. I can’t wait to get Justin back there with me. Sunny weather in January is definitely that much more appreciated if you live in a cold place like Sacramento.

This trip reminded me again of how much I love my job and my company. It’s truly the wonderful people that make it that much more enjoyable. I’ve said this before, but God really knew what he was doing when he helped me get this job. And I couldn’t be more thankful.

Up next: Stitch Fix order came!! And January favorites will be up soon!

Crash Course

Hey Guys!

It’s been a while, but I’m still alive. I’ve had a lot of life changes, as you’ll soon see, and have been working my tail end off! The pic above is me working on the job with one of my managers. Selling like crazy!!

But I have managed to get in good eats and workouts. Still the same girl, just not writing about it. In October I ran Nike’s Women’s Marathon in San Francisco. This was my 3rd year of running it. It was just as amazing as the last 2 years. I got to run it again with my good friend Julie.

The evening after running that race, I bought my very first “big girl car.” I said goodbye to the beetle and HELLO to a BMW!!

I’m still spending as much time as possible with this amazing guy.

We made one of many big life moves and got a puppy! The deal with the puppy was that I got to name her! I picked Annie šŸ™‚

Annie has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. We’re happy to be her parents. Daily we’re amazed by how great of a dog she is.

In December I moved back to Northern California to be closer to the leading man in my life. Days are much easier and enjoyable now. Being 200 miles away from your leading man can be difficult. I’m much happier being in the same city with him. Long distance is difficult, I don’t wish it upon anyone. Even if it’s only 200 miles.

We grew up this year and got our very first Christmas Tree. We said, “go big or go home!” and came home with a tree that was slightly too large to decorate. But we made it work. It was beautiful and we enjoyed it well into January šŸ™‚

In December Justin asked me to marry him! We couldn’t be happier šŸ™‚

I told you I’ve been busy!

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas filled with TOO MANY family functions. But we made it work.

I had a blissful week off from work which I spent decorating our new home and relaxing on the couch. Many cups of tea were consumed. Several books were read. And countless bad tv episodes were watched. It was wonderful.

January has already been a whirlwind. I re-joined by old yoga studio. Zuda Yoga, which will always hold a place in my heart. One of the many places I missed about Sacramento. Life has become the simpler kind. Work, eat, sleep, yoga on the weekdays. Ride, errands, relax on the weekends. And, well, it’s not so bad.

I miss my college days. I miss my days in Arizona, but California is my home. And I went to college to get a job. So here I am.

How are you guys!? Any cool plans for 2013? What are your new year goals? How about fitness plans??

I’m planning on re-committing to yoga. Moving away from CrossFit for a bit to focus on yoga. Still CrossFit 1x per week, but more balance than before. I’m also shooting to go on a vacation this year… some where tropical. Justin and I have talked about a vacation for years. This year I’m saving up, it’s GOING to happen. šŸ™‚

I Might Be Back?

The truth is… winter time reminds me of blogging. I started my blog in December of last year. I spent many nights sitting in my hotel in Arizona… blogging. It was really one of my favorite things to do. That, running and shopping.

Thank goodness for Tucson malls.

I made aĀ deliciousĀ dinner tonight. And all I could think about was… I want to share it!

Let’s get caught up, yeah?

1. I started a new job. Now I work in sales. It’s been 2 months. And candidly… that’s why I haven’t been blogging. I’m working my butt off. I absolutely love my job, but I barely have enough time to eat/sleep/workout… Let alone take pictures. But now I’m getting in the swing of things and hopefully I’ll be able to find some more time here and there.

But, lately… this guy has been getting most of my weekend free time.

2. I went to a horse show in Santa Barbara. I took my horse, Benson – and my mom and I had a girls weekend. It was an absolute blast. And I even came home with a blue ribbon! I definitely left the snobby people of Santa Barbara in their own town. I appreciated the beach, but I could have done without the attitudes. Yeesh!

3. I drank coconut water from a real coconut. To be honest, it tastes exactly like the store bought kind. Except the packaging was a little cooler… don’t you think?

4. I went to a Giants game… in a suit. One of my company’s corporate executives came to visit us from Dallas, TX. My boss said, “Hayley, Brenden bought us Giants tickets. Obviously it’s optional, but we’re leaving at 5:30 if you want to come.” Um… Optional? Oh, that’s funny. I think we sat at the 13th row… Not too shabby. šŸ˜‰

5. Justin ran the Tough Mudder. And I almost died as a spectator. It was 95 degrees… and no shade. I met a friend while I was standing in line to purchase my 2nd beer and hot dog. (There was nothing else to do.) We then found ourselves some grass and shade… Quite a hike away though. Next year… I’m participating. It looked like so much fun! **Minus being electrocuted.

6. I’ve been eating EVERYTHING pumpkin: pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin tea, pumpkin spice coffee, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin protein shakes, pumpkin/banana pancakes. You name it. If it says pumpkin, it’s instantly in my shopping basket. But, I’m officially obsessed with this tea… I’m making a bold transition over from vino at night, to tea. Bold. I told you.

7. Gas is almost $5 a gallon. Except I’m sure I didn’t have to remind you of that. Last Friday was the most expensive fill up, ever. Mind you, I drive a VW Beetle. But still… $65!! Let’s be real, people!! That’s a whole week of groceries for me. That’s a pair of sale pants at Banana Republic. That’s dinner for 2, PLUS an over priced bottle of wine at dinner!! Seriously??!!??

What have you all been up to? Made any delicious holiday recipes lately? Caught the pumpkin bug too?

Shark Weekend

A day in the life of Army Paisley… Civilian style:

My days immediately start with a shower and then a big breakfast.

This particular morning I couldn’t make up my mind between salmon and almond butter… so I had both. I also have a cup of coffee. I never finish it, but it’s next to me while I’m getting ready.

I be-bop to music while I put my make up on. I set two alarms forĀ after I’m already awake. One for 7:45am as a reminder “you have 15 minutes before you need to leave the house.” And then another at 8:00am “You need to leave, like NOW!” It ensures that I get to work in time. There have been so many mornings when I look at the clock and think, “CRAP! I’m already 5 minutes late to work!!! AHHH!!” I hate those mornings so I choose not to re-live them.

Then I get to work by about 8:15am. Check my email, chat with my co-workers and then dive into my plan for the day.

These days my plan in literally allĀ mappedĀ out for me…

At some point I stop for lunch. Rarely do I eat out, unless I’m riding with a manager. So I bring my own lunch. It’s usually something really simple that I threw together that morning. This day was mixed lettuce with lunch meat, leftover chicken and goddess dressing.

I also stop for a drink around 3pm. My typical choice is a Starbucks tea, but this day it was a cherry limeade slurpee. I’m not usually a slurpee fan, but I made a big exception for this glorious flavor!

Later I’ll snack on something before heading back to the office around 4pm. Strawberries or coconut flakes or zuchinni or trail mix.

And on the days that I’m struggling… a cake pop and iced coconut coffee will do the trick!

Between 5:30 and 6:30 I leave the office and head straight to CrossFit. I change at the gym and hang out with my “box friends” until class starts. Or I catch up on blog reading, facebook or phone calls.

By 8pm I’m on my way home to make dinner, shower and go to bed.

But on Friday nights… It’s a little different…

Last Friday I finally made it out for the night.

I met up with my “box friends” at Rock Bottom… a brewery in Campbell with delicious beers!

I had two of the White Ale’s. Yum!

Justin and I made a day trip to Monterey, CA. It was pretty toasty here in San Jose… so the sub 60 degree weather by the water was perfection!

I sported BOTH sweaters. I’m kind of a wuss.

Of course we found ourselves at the Monterey wine tasting room.

I was impressed by everything at “A Taste of Monterey” EXCEPT for their wine. No thanks… I’ll just pay for the tasting. No bottle or glass for you two? No, just the tasting, thanks. Blah. Call me a wine snob. I don’t care.

But the view at the tasting bar was spectacular! Yes please!

Justin and I took a very long time deciding if we wanted to spend the $35 each to go to the Aquarium. I knew that if I didn’t go, I would have been disappointed. So we spent the money. Would I have done it again? No. But I would have regretted it had I chosen to pass.

No doubt, the display was amazing. Just a little too many people for my viewing pleasure… if you know what I mean.

The sharks… so cool!! My favorite was the hammerhead!!

I love all the schools of fish swimming together. It always looks fake to me. Like they’re in a trance or something.

And uh, giant turtles!?! Hello adorable!

It was so much fun. But simply hanging out with Justin was the most fun.

For the fellow long distance-ers out there… I feel your pain.

But thank God for the weekend. Cheers.

My job is really cool. Everyday I get to learn about awesome companies that make/sell really cool stuff… Like these beer brewing books. The company, “More Flavor!” sells items to help people brew their own beer, make their own wine and roast their own coffee. How cool, right!?!

Earlier that day I met with an owner who makes coffee that helps you burn fat… WHAT!?!? I’m sorry… but when it comes to coffee, this girl needs her half & half, sugar and everything in between… Nothing about my coffee is fat burning. But still a cool idea!!

I also get to eat with my managers at Panera. Have you tried their green tea? It’s amazing. I forgot how much I loved it until today.

After work I had great intentions of going to CrossFit, but those were shattered when I thought of making coconut chicken for dinner.

And even more so when I decided to venture out to find Sunflower Market in San Jose.

Welp…. I found it!

And they totally have shredded coconut…win!

CrossFit dreams were also shattered by the thought that I NEED to find better work shoes… the tootsies are KILLING me. And yes the caps are completely necessary. Try walking around outside, all day in heels… sore feet much?

I tried on five pairs. Of course I chose the Michael Kors. I asked the sales girl, “Now are you sure these are real leather?” Her response… “Um, they’re Michael Kors.” Enough said.

They weren’t crazy expensive, but they were crazy comfortable. Sometimes you just gotta spend a little more for better quality. I’m hoping that these will be my “every day” shoes. One of my managers told me that she gets one pair, breaks them in and then just wears them every day… we’ll see how that goes. I’m not really a fan of wearing the same pair of shoes every single day. But I’m going to try it. If it means happy feet, then I’m a happer girl.

Never put pop chips on the top of your grocery bag. And never put the grocery bag in the passenger seat on the way home at 7pm. You’re bound to eat the entire bag.

Not only were my CrossFit dreams shattered, but so were my coconut chicken dreams. Pop chips and new shoes won tonight.

That’s okay. There’s always room for a glass of wine and feet propped up in this house.

Plus, yesterday’s workout was ridiculously hard… We’re talking almost 40 minutes. In the land of CrossFit, that’s like a full-blown marathon.

  • 5 Rounds:
  1. 5 deadlifts (155lbs)
  2. 1 minute plank
  3. 50 double unders
  4. 20 wall balls (14lbs)
  5. run to trail head (400m)

End result: my calves are killing me!!!

Wine Lately

Hi guys!! I’m going to have to do some SERIOUS catching up…

So last weekend, not the one we just had (I know), but the one before… it was my birthday!!

I spent it with two of my favorite people: Justing and Nadine.

We went wine tasting!!

I joined two wine clubs. I know, livin’ large… right! And it was absolutely perfect. I won’t have to buy wine for a few months now. Wine for dinner? You got it!

Justin made me these ridiculously cute wine glasses for my birthday with my initials on them. I left them at his house… but I’ll show them to you soon. He’s so creative.

Monday after work my mom and dad took me out to dinner at my favorite Sacramento spot… Paesano’s!!

We split a pitcher of sangria, bruchetta and pizza. Yum! I was happy to see them.

Historically I’m usually away at training for the Army on my birthday. This was the first birthday in four years that I was in California. Thank goodness!!

And then Monday morning it was back to work!

I’m ok with that. I posted a few birthday cards at my office. That one talks to me. It tells me that drinking three gallons of wine is perfectly normal. It’s my favorite card, obviously.

Eats Lately…

I’ve been obsessed with smoked salmon on top of cream cheese and toast. HolyĀ delicious! It’s a perfect combo of protein and carbs for breakfast.

I also snagged a bag of chia seeds at TJ’s… I’ve yet to find something that I really like that involves these weird little seeds… but we’re getting there. I’m thinking almond butter, banana wrap with some chia sprinkled in there… we’ll see.

I’m also back on a vitamin kick. These are the GNC Active Women’s vitamins. For whatever reason they keep me from feeling hungry all. day. long. HUGE fan… I can only take a few at a time and typcially forget to take them all by the end of the day. But I’m getting better. I know that vitamins are really important to take… so we’re getting there.

Since I barely have time to eat, I’ve only been doing CrossFit lately. I pack my gym bag every night and then head straight to the gym after work. I usually make it to the 7pm class which I’m thankful that my gym offers. Otherwise I’d be out of luck on the workout end. Todays workout was a toughie (when isn’t it?):

4 Rounds:

  • 20 ball slams (16 lb ball)
  • 20 crunches with the ball
  • 20 diamond push ups on the ball
  • run to the fence and back, with the ball

I finished in 14ish minutes. I’m getting back into the swing of things with CrossFit. It feels great to be back. The push ups were the hardest part for me. I had to break them up in sets of 5 to get them all done. And even go on my knees — yikes!! But my arms were still screaming despite my “modification”.

When I got home I cooked up a chicken apple sausage, protein shake and a large glass of wine.

Floors are mopped and vacuumed, counters are clean and sanitized… Now it’s time for some Grey’s Anatomy.

How was your weekend? Done any killer workouts lately? Ever get on cleaning sprees late at night?

Disneyland Extravaganza!

Hi Friends!!

I’ve been on vacation for a few days, can’t wait to tell you all about it!

Started at the ridiculously early hour of 3:45am. Coffee was a necessity. As was a great playlist filled with 90s, Jack Black and top 40.

We didn’t hit any traffic (Hallelujah!) and made it to Disneyland a little after 10am. Parking was a piece of cake (except for the insane $15!!) and we walked a short 1/2 mile to the park. I was like a little kid — STOKED OUT OF MY MIND to be there!!

It’s seriously the happiest place on earth. I didn’t even care that there were long lines, or children screaming — I was at Disneyland!

A few years ago, Justin refused to go onĀ roller coasters. And then I took him to Six Flags Marine World — and his world was changed.

Now, he’s aĀ roller coasterĀ junkie. His favorite ride was California Screaming. If you ask him to describe it, he says: “The one that goes upside down.” I think we went on that one about 4 times. It helped that the line moved particularly fast. I think the most we waited was 20 minutes.

He had quite the hair-do after that ride… šŸ™‚

Justin has this weird talent. He’s good at everything. To include carnival games. He won this horse “Bullseye” from Toy Story… What a guy!

We spent equal amounts of time at Disneyland and the California Adventure side. I was excited to ride Space Mountain for the first time. Turns out, it was also Justin’s first time!!

We ended up riding it twice. So. Much. Fun.

I was strangling Bullseye.

Although CA Adventure was a blast, I had a special love for Disneyland. Maybe because it’s a true classic — fond memories from when I first came to Disneyland as a little girl.

I fulfilled my Mom’s request of riding the Peter Pan ride. It’s absolutely adorable. A MUST. Although I didn’t ride all the kiddie rides, I did do a few of them — and I was happy I did. I think that when you go to Disneyland, it’s okay to be immature — Ā or ‘young at heart’. It’s part of the experience.

We got a 3-day hopper pass, but only ended up spending 2 days at the park. But, I assure you — we got ALL our money’s worth. We were exhausted by then end of each day. So much walking and standing. We took every opportunity to rest in the shade. Me, personally, I’m a very energetic “I wanna see it all” kind of person. And that’s what we did. So you can imagine how tired Justin felt by about 6pm.

To keep us bubbly and excited to tackle the park — Starbucks was a must. I got a BIG iced coffee with a few pumps of coconut syrup. Holy-yum!

We also enjoyed other snacks like soft-serve ice cream cones, popcorn, icee’s, and a clam chowder bread bowl. I came prepared with sandwich fixings, larabars, bananas, trail mix, water with propel packs and other snacks to keep us fueled throughout the day.

I didn’t see too many characters, but I did see Minnie!! She’s so darn cute!

On the second day, Justin and I took a more relaxed approach. We had a few rides left that we wanted to ride, but also wanted to take in more sights/experiences of Disneyland.

So we rode the big ship while we waited for our Fast Pass time.

Friday night we stayed for the Disney Fantasmic show as well as the World of Color light/water show — a MUST see!!

I was amazed at how beautiful the water show was. Incredible.

We had an amazing two days, but were very tired and ready for a relaxing weekend afterwards. Instead of going the full 3 days, we packed it all into 2 and headed to the beach on Saturday morning. A wise choice considering we both had work on Monday and needed to re-coup after 24 hours of Disneyland!

My favorites: Indiana Jones ride, California Screaming, the white water rafting ride, Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. Also… the Pixar parade (Toy Story, Monsters Inc, and Bugs Life) and the Disney Parade. I was smiling the entire time I watched the parade — be-bopping to the music. I absolutely loved it.

I’m so excited to come back to Disneyland again. Now that I’ve experienced it as an adult, I’ll definitely be back sooner. It’s such a magical place — no matter how old you are.

4th Festivities

How was your 4th of July!?! Watch any fireworks? Attend a BBQ?? I did!!

To start the day off right, Justin and I went to Awful Annie’s for breakfast with his Momma and John. As soon as we told them where we were going, it didn’t take much to convince them to join!

I love catching up and hanging out with them. I had the mini breakfast: egg/bacon/cheese scramble with fruit and toast. Delish! I love their blackberry jam.

Next stop, my parents! Right away, I was craving some “seasonal ale” — Apricot Ale hit the spot!

We spent most of the day hanging out by the pool and just being a family.

DadĀ barbecuedĀ up some amazing steak and chicken. I helped myself to a small plate of everything.

And later I got to see this beautiful face!! NADINE! I was stoked that she was even MORE festive than me!?!

She arrived with the perfect gift… Army print go-girl and a “Her Wineness” sign for my apartment. Aw. She knows me oh too well.

I had a blast hanging out with this miniature person. Who, by the way, LOVES horses. You ask her, “Want to go feed Comet!?” She runs to her room and grabs her shoes and points to the door. You don’t have to ask her twice.

MommaG got her this rocking horse. She’ll jump up and down, rock back and forth on it – all day long. Love it. And check out her ridiculously cute outfit. Too much cuteness!

After a full day of swimming and golfing, these two were wiped out!

But… no time for sleeping, it’s fair time!!

With the whole family!

We brought our beers to go and snacked on bratwurst’s and kettle corn.

And stumbled upon dirt bike racing. At first I though, “how boring… they just drive around in circles!!?”

And then I saw these little guys… I’m a sucker for anything miniature. Dirt bike riders are no exception. They were probably all about 4-7 years old.

After the fair and some intense people watching, we hung out and ‘tailgated’ to wait for it to get dark so we could watch the fireworks.

Let’s talk about this people watching… I’m floored at the clothing “choices” that people “select” to “wear.” Many quotations to emphasize the sarcasm here.Ā Another words, what the F*%$ are they thinking!?!? I was told several times, “Hayley — stop staring.” I couldn’t believe my eyes. There were many moments of gratitude. We’ll just leave it at that.

The fireworks were lovely. But I was pooped by the end of the night.

Today I was able to ride my horse and pack for my Army week of training.

Hanging out with all the “kids” — and eating leftovers.

Tonight is jet ski’s and country night!

Days Off

After working 7 consecutive days, I was VERY ready for a few days off. I tossed around the idea of going home to Sacramento… and decided to just go for it. I was in desperate need of seeing these faces…

Nadine, my G.I. Jane.

And J-man… the boyfriend.

We met up for Taco Tuesday. Guess what I ate? Tacos! Guess what we drank? Beer!

It’s been great living in San Jose… learning a new job and gaining new experiences. But sometimes it’s really tough being away from my favorite people.

The next morning I grabbed Starbucks and met with my favorite MommaG!

We had sushi, it was delicious!

I then took full advantage of Ann Taylor’s sale and got a new dress for my final interview (yes, this girl is job hopping).

I also paid a trip to Jared’s to get my ring re-sized. I have big hands, what can I say!

At 3:30pm I met Nadine at Rocklin CrossFit. They moved to a new location! It’s HUGE!!

It’s not quite done, but I’m so happy for them. Love the highĀ ceilingsĀ and all the extra space.

And it was a blast being there with this girl!!

The workout:

800 meter run

3 Rounds:

15 plyo push ups

10 dead lift

800 meter run

I pretty much died. Of heat and weakness. It is so freaking hot here, made me very grateful for bay area weather. Yes I miss the people of Sacramento… but NOT the heat.

Nadine and I grabbed Jamba afterwards… I was stoked to see Jamba coconut water!! YES!

Later Jay and I got Thai food and sat on the patio. Look at all these frogs!

They get close to the light because that’s where all the bugs hang out… dinner time!

Today I worked on a business plan and met Justing for lunch. We couldn’t wait to dive into the sweet potato fries!

Can’t say that Jack’s Urban Eats does the best with the SP fries — but they did the job.

Tonight I’ll be meeting my dad for a belated father’s day dinner and then heading back to the bay. It was a great few days, and now it’s back to work! Hope you all had a fantastic week — tomorrow is YOUR Friday!!

Saturday Surprise

Yesterday I woke up to a case of the “I don’t wanna go to work”‘s … You know. The no-make up, casual clothes wearing kind of day. And so that’s what I did.

I got lucky because the kitchen at work had just been stocked when I got there. Spoiled, I know.

And a Sub… Turkey/bacon/avocado. Omg, yes. Oh and those are definitely TOMS… told ya it was a casual day.

While at work I was surprised by the news… J said he’d come hang out for the night!! I already had plans with my Aunt to go to Dancing on the Avenue in Willow Glen — So we all went!

This is Justin staring at cooking meat. Grilling, smoking, BBQing meat. We’re so soul mates.

Walk away from the food…

Dancing on the Avenue was a blast. It was pretty much a bunch of people eating, drinking and dancing. I don’t know about you guys, but that’s a perfect Saturday afternoon in my book. As time goes by, I’m becoming more and more in love with my new city. I love that there always seems to be something fun like this to do. I learned that they have music in the park every Thursday night. My aunt said you can bring your own food and wine… I’m so in.

Speaking of wine…

I often try and buy new-to-me, inexpensive wines. I’ll buy a few at a time and then it’s like a wine tasting at home! I’ve found some really great, affordable wines this way. My mom calls us “label girls” because the cutest label wins!!

A few weeks ago I snagged a bottle of Liberte Cab. I opened it the other night when Jacqueline and I were decorating the apartment. We were both surprisingly pleased with it. It was a very smooth red. A little fruity, yet dark…. Just the way I like em’. hehe You can read a full review of it here.

Hope you all have an amazing Sunday. Snag a bottle of Liberte from Trader Joe’s — you won’t beĀ disappointed!
